I wonder weh happen to all dem man yah now?

If you’re anywhere nearly as cool as me then you’d do well to have Colin Munroe’s take on Kanye West’s ‘Flashing Lights’ on your playlist. Discovered the video the other day while I was on the Kanye blog and the melody was stuck in my head since.

Today I found the actual track on dude’s myspace and I’ve been listening to it on repeat all afternoon.

Pay attention to the video below. Its half of why I love the song so much. For me, its one of only a handful of videos I can think of where the video balances the abstract with the concrete well enough to actually ‘fit’ the song it envelopes.

Colin Munroe Web (pretty bare at the time of posting this… only a pretty picture and a link to his myspace)

Colin Munroe Myspace (flashing lights available for download here. Make sure to go though the blog entries too… lots of goodies in there.)

p.s. to my 5 loyal readers and the rest of you, I’m quite aware that my blog has become little more than a collection of “links I like” of late.

Sooooooooooo?

Something I’ve been meaning to share on here for some time now. Siren is actually the performance name of Coretta Singer, a local videographer. Whats really cool though is that she not only sang but directed and - get this - animated this video.

Some really amazing things are happening underneath the radar. In fact, <insert diatribe here about how much ‘really original’ talent is being stifled by the mainstream media etc.>
